HI all, Ive had a My passport (Windows) for some time, I recently bought a MAC now I need a Passport thats compatitible and it will cost the same to backup and reformat my current one as buying a new one. So my question is Can I transwer files from the Passport Windows to the Passport for Mac seamlessly? How would I go about this? Would have to back up the Windows files to my mac (since I dont have my PC anymore) and then transfer to the Passport for Mac? I started doing this but it was taking so long Any advice on how to make this speedy?

When i first got my WD External Hard drive, it was formatted for PC. I then found the instructions to format it to Mac but now whenever i connect it to a pc, it wont work. My question is if i am able to set my hard drive to a format in which it can work on both windows and mac.

Don’t worry in 10 quick steps I’ll tell you how to format WD My Passport for Mac. One of the first things to note is that there are two main versions available of this external hard drive. The first is preformatted and is called simply WD My Passport.

Incidentally it is the cheaper version to buy. NTFS as a disk format (also referred to as a file system) is designed to plug into a Windows PC.
