They give you stickers! I was told I have a hard drive that's failing on my old 2010 macbook pro, so I decided to buy a WD Passport Ultra (2TB) external hard drive to back it up. Unfortunately for me it's now flashing a light as if to say there's no way it'll ever let me get my stuff off of this computer. The first thing to pop up was an error (of course) saying that it was incompatible, do I want to erase everything on it so that it can work with time machine- I chose yes. Next, time machine popped up and since I ignorantly never enabled it as my computer kept running slower and slower, it then says that time machine can't be used and I closed the dialog box. To make matters worse, the external never popped up on the sidebar.
