Usb Joysticks For Mac
Probably out of my price range right now. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have one of these in my hand right now, we sell them where I work: So if I get this, and then get junxion, I will be able to set up the joystick(s) as a MIDI controller and use it to access the x-y controllers? What about the modern spring loaded joysticks? Do they snap the x-y position back to center when released?
Is it a pain to configure? Sowari, I'm digging your patches for Synth In A Case!!
USB Overdrive is yet another good app to control & map any external usb device to Mac OS X, and not just gamepads & joystick controllers. USB Overdrive is thus an ideal alternative for Xpadder for Mac OS X, and thus can be used to connect your Bluetooth PS4 Controller as well.
So I've got the Logitech Dual Action Gamepad, and I've downloaded the junxion software (both 1.4 and 2.0) and it will talk to Reaktor (Cool!) But the same thing happens as if I were assigning a knob or fader to an X-Y box, I can only control 1/2 of the controller. In other words I can go left to right, and not up and down. And as I feared, the gamepad snaps the cursor back to center when the joystick is released. I've not yet purchased Junxion, but I guess I could email them for support anyway.
But honestly, there is no point in incorporating a joystick if it's going to work like this. Someone give me some success stories and a few pointers on sorting this out. I love the idea of working a joystick (or four;-)) in as a controller. As usual, I'm in a little over my head here. Thanks for all the replies! I assumed that one joystick would be able to control both the X and the Y aspects of the X-Y window of Reaktor. When I look at the functions of the joystick in Junxion, there is an X and a Y axis for the left joystick.
The controller I bought has 2 joysticks. The other joystick is listed as Z-Axis and Z-rotation. So I'm curious, has anyone on this thread actually implemented a joystick for use with Reaktor, or just read about it?
I thought this would be a more common thing.

Keyboards can only go so far when it comes to manipulating and navigating gaming environments, especially if you’re flying without a PC joystick. In fact, flying games that have you operating virtual commercial air flights or engaging in intense dogfights beckon to be played with the real-life controls that actual planes operate with.
Thankfully, PC joysticks allow you to experience these simulations the way they were meant to be. The immersion level becomes even more realistic when you pull back on these joysticks, pull triggers, flip switches, and feel the throttle as when you carefully land a plane on a runway or zoom past enemy fighters in the skies. Some of these joysticks can even be used with your video game consoles, too, as well as for arcade and fighter type games. The Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick has an ergonomically designed throttle control with a wide hand rest for optimal comfort. And it can be detached from the main joystick’s stabilized base. Its dual system aerodynamic controls allow players to rotate the handle or tilt its level. The joystick’s 12 buttons and five axles are completely programmable for any specific custom settings and can be instantly altered and switched via a mapping and preset button.
