Mac Remote Desktop For Citrix Cannot Connect To Windows Computer
Once you've accessed the Mac App Store, use the search bar at the top right of the screen to search for 'Microsoft Remote Desktop.' The first search result should be what you're looking for.
I've got a number of people here who decided they needed to upgrade their Mac to El Capitan. In all cases, they can no longer login to Receiver. When they get to the add account dialog box, they enter the addess of our XenApp server and select add, it thinks about it for a while and then gives the error 'Cannot connect to server'. This didn't happen with any previous versions of Apple OSX.
Does anyone have a workaround? For now, I'm having those people use the web login via a browser.
That works fine but they all prefer Receiver. Thanks for the help. We have the same problem.
A user told me that he can't connect to our citrix farm with the new Receiver 12.1 on his El Capitan. With the old one 11.9.1.5 is seems to work. We also use Xenapp 6.5 with Webinterface 5.4 I am end user, using receiver and have just spent near on a day thinking I had a SSL certificate error in my Keychain, i've uninstalled and reinstalled Citrix Receiver 12.1 on El Capitain about 10 times on my Mac trying to get this working. Thanks for the post, because as soon as I downgraded to 11.9.1.5 it works fine on OSX El Capitan.

OSX: El Capitain Version 10.11.3 and Receiver 12.1 do not work together from my experience. The error I got every time I tried to connect was 'There was an error while trying to connect to 'domain'.' Which doesn't give you much to work with regards troubleshooting, especially as an end user, plus my I.T department are rubbish and wouldn't help troubleshoot an OSX client issue if I went to them. Thanks again. Citrix please resolve this issue:). I was having the same issue.
Here's how I got it working: Download and install the NetScaler Gateway Plug-In for OS X from A little app called 'NetScaler Gateway' should launch at the end of the installation; if it doesn't, you can find the app in /Library/Application Support/Citrix. In the app, choose New Connection and enter your NetScaler url under Server Address.
Now go to Citrix Receiver and create a new account, entering the url when prompted. This will fail again with 'Cannot connect to the server.' In the menu bar, go to Citrix Receiver > Preferences > Accounts > gear icon > Configure Account. You should see that the NetScaler Gateway portion is pre-populated with the Gateway URL (which previously was a blank, non-editable field before installing the Gateway plug-in). The Server URL field will be blank; enter the url here and click OK.
