After the last update to Office 365 (version 15.27 build 161010) my contact list in Outlook 2016 was lost. Anyone else seen this problem? I noticed that the problem also occurred with Outlook 2011, but no mention of Outlook 2016. Luckily, I had also imported the contacts list to the Mac Contacts app last year and they were still there.
Also luckily, I had not significantly added to the list during that time. After some work searching for how to export from this app to Outlook (also somewhat of a kludge and another topic for discussion) I was able to successfully restore my contacts to Outlook. Basically, you export a VCF file from the Mac Contacts app. '\'outlook for mac 2016\' default attachment folder'. Adobe acrobat reader for mac how to use. Then you open Outlook 2016 to the Contacts page and drag the VCF file to the Address book in the left column of the Contacts page - and voila - they repopulate the address book.
If Microsoft continues to put out faulty updates like this, I will have to discontinue subscribing to Office 365. I have already left the Microsoft OS camp after the disasters called Windows 8 and Windows 10. I have been an IT administrator since 1985, supporting DOS, Unix, Windows, Mac and Linux machines and have since retired. Just from my observations, I believe that the Quality Control for Windows has suffered enormously since the introduction of Windows 8. Edit: I Just received this email from the 'Microsoft Community Team'.
